For once a frosty reception is a welcome one!The 2011 Polar Challenge competitors have all arrived safely in the frozen north landing at the local airport in Resolute Bay. Greeted by a few familiar faces of course...
Once settled into the world famous South Camp Inn, the launch pad for some of the most famous expeditions of recent times, it's straight to work. There's a lot of equipment to prepare and ready for what the Arctic has to throw at it. However, it's not just equipment that needs to be ready, mentally they need to be able to cope with what the Arctic has in store.
With this in mind EWR's comprehensive training and support package really helps. Gary Bullen and Conrad Dickinson are EWR's top training team and they are there to help with all the final preparations from fitting out cross country skis with the Webber bindings, to lectures on cooking, frostbite and some additional ski training. All of this ensures that people have the confidence within themselves to achieve the extraordinary.
