Science

During the 2011 – 12 Antarctic season EWR’s Antarctic Centre for Explorations (ACE) facilitated two very different science projects in East Antarctica.

Climate

Eleanor Darlington of the University of Loughborough Department of Geography undertook the first season’s fieldwork of her 3-year PhD which provides the data needed to produce more accurate forecasts of future environmental changes, including climate. Nutrition

Scott Paulin of the University of Hertfordshire School of Sport and Exercise Science looked at the nutritional profiles of competitors in the 2012 Centenary South Pole Race. The data Scott will collect in Antarctica will form the basis of his MSc research. Visit the Nutrition tab or click here for more information on his research and findings.
