South Pole Race 2013/14
Starting from the frozen coastline of Novo and set in the coldest, driest and highest desert on the planet, competitors will race 745km to be the first to the Pole.
With the threat of multiple crevasses, snow bridges, kabatic winds of up to 100mph, termpatures as long as -50C, the threath of blinding snowstorms and whiteouts whilst rising to over 3000m on the high polar plateau ... the South Pole is the ultimate extreme challenge.

The package includes:
- Full medical, rescue and repatriation insurance and safety cover
- Support with fundraising ideas and sponsorship
- UK training weekend
- Return flights for training and the race itself from London (LHR)
- All clothing, equipment and food.
- One weeks intensive arctic training at our centre in Hjerkinn, Norway
- Full support and advice from experts before during and after the challenge
- 8 days acclimatisation training in Antarctica from the Russian base, Novo up through the mountains to the plateau.
- All fights and transfers back from the South Pole in a DC3 aircraft.
- The race itself

5th – 7th October 2013 Wales training weekend
26th January – 2nd February 2013 Norway training week
Mid December –End of January 2013 Race
All potential competitors are required to be interviewed by Extreme World Races due to the extreme nature of this challenge, both mentally and physically.
