Team Kevin McDonald - Walk/Ski

Kevin McDonald

A native of Scotland, now living in New Hampshire, USA. He has a lifelong interest in all things aerial, soloing in gliders at age 16 and powered aircraft at age 19 with the Royal Air Force. Kevin has worked as a flight instructor, aerial photographer and film location scout (True Lies, Dropzone). He has circumnavigated the globe, flown a 60 year-old seaplane 'warbird' across the central Pacific and flown solo, on several occasions, across the North Atlantic. A keen outdoorsman, with a BSc. Geology from Aberdeen University, loves hiking, wild swimming, camping, outdoor fitness and natural navigation. A qualified firearms instructor, he has represented his country in shooting competition and now operates a reality-based security training company. He is an accomplished photographer/filmmaker having had images published in 'Flying' magazine and continues to produce promotional outdoor-activities videos for colleagues. Kevin is currently engaged in worldwide flight operations as a pilot for a major international airline. In his spare time, he is a keen skier, kitesurfer, kayaker and paraglider pilot and squeezes in some skydiving, on the side. His ambition is to sail solo across the North Atlantic. He is married with 2 teenage daughters.
